Happy Turkey Day from Charlie

Happy Thanksgiving from our little turkey to yours!

Week 2... lots of cuddles and pee!

 

Weight:  8lbs 5 oz, gaining weight like crazy!

Length: 21 inches... can't believe you have already grown an inch!

Hates:  Sleeping alone in either your bassinet or crib, being swaddled and baths.

1st time Mommy was able to give you a bath! I missed the first couple of them since I wasn't able to stand for that long of a time following my c-section.

Loves:  Sleeping on Mommy & Daddy, Cuddling and Crying (you seem to like that a lot!).

How we spend most of our Days...

Firsts:

*First trip to the park! It also was your first time in the stroller... you seemed to enjoy it- you slept the entire way! It was also my first time getting out of the house, we weren't able to walk too fast or go too far but it felt great to get back out into the world!

*First time meeting your Nana Pelner! Your Daddy's mom came all the way from New Jersey just to meet and cuddle with you...

*My first time being home alone with you!!! Dad went back to work on Monday and the Grandmas went to the store so we woke up from a nap to find it was just us in the house... sadly it was lunchtime, so lunch consisted of Beef Jerky. But I'm going to say that's allowed since it was our first time just the two of us!

Milestones:  Lost your umbilical cord!

Clothing Size: Newborn, which is still a little big on you!

Diaper Size:  Newborn

Nicknames: Charlie, Poppy

Daddy’s “Favorite” Moment:  Getting pee’d and pooped on all week! Sadly we are still getting the hang of changing diapers so there seems to be a lot of getting pee’d on and a large amount of waterfalls of poop.

Mommy’s “Favorite” Moment:  Laughing at Daddy as he gets pee’d on in the middle of the night! Since I am still not too mobile I haven’t been able to do any diaper changes… though Daddy gets real mad at Mommy when I start laughing.

November 22nd, another Notre Dame Game... this was the 2nd Onsie we put you in- you pee'd all over the first one (Diaper FAIL!). Sadly it was another loss, to Louisville 28-31.

November 20th: "Up all night with a dog that isn't adjusting well to the new baby that cried all night unless he was held or fed which I am doing even hour and half- two hours now which led to the 3 different wardrobe changes from 11p-6a due to him peeing and pooping all over himself, changing pad and dresser! Week 1... we got to go HOME!!!

The first week really flew by in a blur of sleepless nights, medication and new baby cuddles! It is hard to put into words the emotions of that first week... but here is our first week, mostly in pictures!

Weight: 7 lbs, 12oz

Length: 20 inches

Hates:  boobs, eating, pooping and sponge baths

Getting a Bath in the hospital

1st Bath at home, given by Daddy and Mema

Loves:  sleeping, cuddling with Mommy & Daddy (and pretty much anyone that wants to cuddle with him) and binkies.

Firsts: EVERYTHING!

1st Notre Dame Game, Saturday November 15th... they lost, not a good game for Daddy!

First Car Ride, Monday November 17th- home from the hospital...Mommy & Daddy sure were scared! There was a little issue with how small you were and your head kept bobbing forward! Luckily your Mommy was sitting in the backseat with you and was able to fix that real quick.

First Checkup, Tuesday November 18th... you passed with flying colors- and gained lots of weight.

Milestones:  I would say the biggest milestone was being born! And with that came learning to cry, pooping, finally  latching on to Mommies boobs (that was the toughest thing for you all week!).

Clothing Size: Newborn… we were not prepared for such a small baby! After being told how huge you were going to be we had bought almost no newborn clothes... Luckily thanks to online ordering and your Mema you had a new set of clothes that fit almost as soon as you got home!

Diaper Size:  Newborn... and thanks to not being able to really be mobile I didn't have to change 1 diaper all week, your Daddy did it all for me!

Nicknames: Charlie, Poppy

Daddy’s "Favorite" Moment:  The moment that you were handed to him… He was so happy to see how healthy you were!

Mommy’s :Favorite" Moment: The moment we got home from the hospital, it felt like we were finally a real family! Though honestly every moment when I get to cuddle with you are all my favorite moments.

Tuesday, November 18th- Cuddling with two of your favorites, Mema & Ruby, on your first full day at home. You seemed to have adjusted to being home very nicely.
