Week 28... and bonus week 27!

It’s been a rough 2 weeks on me so sadly I didn’t get to blog last week… and with my baby brain I can’t even distinguish between the 2 weeks so I’m going to have to put the 2 of them together.

Your Size: Eggplant! Though we found out at our doctor’s appointment that you are measuring at 30 weeks- so your size really is most like a large cucumber.

Your Due Date: November 12th… only 11 weeks left- and only 9 till we are considered full term!

Maternity/ Baby clothes? You have been shown so much love lately from family and friends!!!! Our baby clothes drawers are filling up so nicely, I can’t wait to put you in your little outfits…. Even if I know you will ruin most of them the first time we try and fit you into them! But the best part is your changing dresser will be delivered on Tuesday!!!!

Nursery: We are making progress on your Nursery… and your Grandpa came over last weekend to help your Daddy finish some of the furniture. Here is a sneak peak of your Gramps sanding the bookcase- it’s almost finished but don’t want to reveal it until it is all done.

Baby Gear: You have wheels! We ordered your stroller on Tuesday… it’s a really cool running stroller so that you and Daddy can go on nice long runs. I’m not much of a runner but I have a feeling even I will try use it with you to get back into shape.

Sleep: I’ve given up on having a good night sleep…. Also have moved to sleeping on the couch every night!

This week’s adventure:  We haven’t had too many adventures in the last 2 weeks, mainly because all of a sudden I’ve lost what little energy I had. But what we have done are a lot of projects for the nursery and the house. Your Grandparents came over to help with the projects so luckily we have some finished…. But so many more to do.

Grandma Eberhardt supervising!

Daddy working on your shelf

My project using Lullaby paints-  Baby and Pregnant Momma friendly painting.

Grandpa & Daddy working on sending my sewing table.

Ruby visiting us!!!!

We got our Glucose Test back and after drinking the yucky sugar water and getting my blood drawn we were happy to find out I tested negative for Gestational Diabetes… though since your weight is up a bit we are going to try and stick to the Gestational Diabetes diet and see if that can help to not put too much weight on you… as of now it’s really hard to stick to it but I’m going to really really try!

We also took our first Birthing Class… sadly we were a little too prepared for the class (I thought it would help if we had some idea of what was going on) so the first class was pretty much just an overview of what we have already read about and discussed. But next week we get to see 2 separate births so I have a feeling that one will show us lots of stuff we did not read about!

Miss anything? SLEEP!!!!!!!!

Movement:  Lots and lots of movement…. All the time! Some days you are up all night playing. Then other days you are up all day playing. I love feeling you roll around and exploring!

Your favorite foods: Trying to get off the cheese kick- apparently this is the hardest habit of mine to stop! But you really love Apples, as soon as I take a bite you start to kick at me.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Our new Iron Pills are making my tummy sick. I have had to up the iron since finding out I’m anemic, so far not adjusting to the pills- but it’s only day 3.

Gender: Boy

Labor signs: Nope… but I have been getting small little Braxton Hicks contractions! And on Monday I got one hell of an intense one!

Symptoms: Apparently sometimes when you are pregnant you can only be described as a little ball of fiery gas!

Belly button in or out?  Button in, but belly way out!

Wedding rings on or off? Still on and going strong

Happy or moody most of the time: A little of both but mostly really grumpy due to lack of sleep.

Looking forward to: Only one week till the shower- getting excited!

Advice to my soon-to-be baby: When you love someone make sure you tell them often. This week an old friend of mine lost her husband, and although I have never met him it hit really close to home. So make sure that you appreciate the love around you and always tell them how much you love them because sadly they could be gone without warning. PS We love you VERY VERY much!!!!

Week 26...

Your Size: Lettuce.
Your Due Date: November 12th… only 13 weeks left!

Maternity/ Baby clothes? You got all kinds of goodies over the weekend. The Pelner side of the family threw you a surprise Baby Shower on Friday!

You are now outfitted with tons of super cute baby clothes!!! One of my favorites was the one from your Grandma Pelner because I know that you and your Daddy are going to be such Buddies!

Nursery: We are still stocking up on things for your nursery. I’d like to say it’s almost done but there is still so much left to do before you can call it home. But one of the really cute heirloom toys we got over the weekend was a turtle puzzle that is going to be just perfect in your little nursery!

Baby Gear: You will learn really quickly that your Mom is a HUGE holiday fan, and Christmas is by far my favorite holiday! So it should come to no surprise that I’ve already bought your first Christmas Ornament!

Sleep: Slept a bit better this week… still horribly, but managed a few ok nights, and that’s all I can ask for these days.

This week’s adventure:  We had a very fun adventure this week- we traveled to Hilton Head, SC! Your Dad has been going there with his family for about 30 years now so he was very excited to show you around the island a little bit, and can’t wait to be able to really introduce you to it in a year or two.

Aunt Laura, Grandma Pelner and us.

Harbor Town

Touring Harbor Town... right next to where we will take you to go hear Gregg Russell Sing.

South Beach Harbor

Though the most exciting part was getting to see our friendly alligator swimming in the lagoon every day! Don’t worry, until you are a teenage I will not let you play anywhere near the lagoon!

Miss anything? Being able to go on vacation and actually be active and adventure more. It was really rough on me traveling and then with the heat and being so pregnant I wasn’t able to do too much on the island and it looks like there are so many fun activities for me to try next time.

Movement:  You are my little mover and shaker! Your Dad was able to feel you a little more this week so that was really exciting for both of us. But so far you seem to be really enjoying my belly.

Your favorite foods: I started a diet this week… sadly you need to gain about 6 pounds in the next 13 weeks but I’m only allowed to gain about 5 pounds so trying to watch my eating a little better. Which is next to impossible because I’m always hungry!

Anything making you queasy or sick: My morning sickness did return while we were in Hilton Head, but that may have been partially because of the travel and partially because of the crazy heat.

Gender: Boy

Labor signs: Nope

Symptoms: Lots of big kicks… ALL THE TIME! Plus my crazy indigestion has returned.

Belly button in or out?  Button in, but belly way out!

Wedding rings on or off? Still on… didn’t think I’d make it this long!

Happy or moody most of the time: I think this week I was actually more happy than moody, but still pretty darn moody.

Looking forward to: Our 3 day weekend coming up!

Advice to my soon-to-be baby: No matter how young or old you are I want you to always know that you can come to your Mom and Dad with any problem you have without fear of judgment or repercussions. It could be as innocent as accidentally breaking the neighbors window with a softball, or in high school needing a ride home because your friends have been drinking… or it could be more serious things like being bullied in school or feelings of depression. Just know that we will ALWAYS be here for you and no matter what we will do anything and everything to help you out!

P.S. Here is your Daddy being silly... many of the reasons I love him so! And this picture just make me giggle so much- though he's going to be so mad at me for posting it...

Week 25...

Exhausted & 25 1/2 weeks pregnant!

Your Size: Cauliflower… and my belly is supposed to be the size of a soccer ball- which seems really accurate to me!

Your Due Date: November 12th… only 14 weeks left!

Maternity/ Baby clothes? This week I started my packing list for the hospital… I have 3 charts going- For Mommy, For Poppy & For Daddy. Apparently for a 2-3 day stay at the lovely hotel Cedars we are going to need a good amount of stuff- me especially! Though my favorite part of the stuff is being able to pack some cute little onesies and going home stuff for Poppy… OMG that means Poppy is going to be going home with us in no time at all- GASP!

Baby Gear: Oh my goodness your stuff has arrived finally!!! We got delivered your rocker, crib and crib mattress! Everything is really starting to come together for your nursery.

Your Dad put together your crib and it looks amazing…

Now all we need is our little boy to put into it.

Sleep: I’m starting to spend more and more nights on the couch sleeping sadly… luckily our couch is very comfortable!

This week’s adventure:  We took you to your first concert! During the summer Hermosa does concerts on the pier on Sunday nights. They are great because you can bring wine (though we aren’t able to do that this summer!) and food and have a picnic on the sand with friends and listen to music. We also had the cutest little baby boy with us this trip- he was born last November 12th, so it was pretty cool to see what you are going to look like a year from now.

Miss anything? I miss being able to look down and see things besides my belly… plus I miss being able to bend over and get things off the floor… and being able to get up from low chairs… basically I miss lots of stuff at the moment!

Movement:  You are so active! So much that even the doctor noticed it at our 25 week appointment. She kept trying to get your heartbeat but every time that she would find it after about a second you would swim away to a new position. You really seem to be having fun in my tummy!!!!

Your favorite foods: My appetite has gone way down this week… sadly things are starting to be less appealing again for me.

Anything making you queasy or sick: This week has been another pretty good week… my tummy has been upset but I don’t think it has anything to do with you, except for maybe starting to get a bit stressed and overwhelmed by everything.

Gender: Boy

Labor signs: Not yet but I got a little worried over the weekend, you got yourself into your birthing position with your head down so my belly dropped already. It’s not supposed to drop for another 10 weeks! But after a call to our Doula and our Doctor we were assured that everything is alright and some babies just drop really early.

Symptoms: Lots of big kicks!!!!

Belly button in or out?  Button in, but belly way out!

Wedding rings on or off? On… for maybe another week or 2 only!

Happy or moody most of the time: I cry all the time still and am starting to get grumpy as I get more uncomfortable.

Looking forward to: On Thursday we get to go to Hilton Head and you get to spend some time with your Grandma Pelner and all of her side of the family! Lots of Aunties & Cousins to meet! It’s going to be raining off and on for the whole weekend, but that’s ok with me- rain means I can just take lots and lots of nappies!

Advice to my soon-to-be baby: Try to make lemons out of lemonade. Although it sounds very Pollyanna,  and sometimes it seems really hard to find the positive but I truly believe that there is a silver lining with each cloud. You have been kicking and moving like crazy making your poor momma very uncomfortable and grouchy the last few weeks, but after having my miscarriage last year every little kick and punch that you do to my tummy is truly a gift!

Enjoying the new rocker... can't wait to rock my sweet boy to sleep!
